Just recently, my cold tap in the kitchen, the outside tap and water into the washing machine spurts high presure, to start with, when turned on and then reduces down to a little trickle. Any ideas how to fix this problem or whats causing it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Someone has turned down your stopcock - in the house or in the road. Could be Kids!

We haven't done anything in the house so it must be outside.
Thanks so much for your help.

I suppose it could be a blockage but it must be upstream of all your taps.

Errr, it's possible your mains supply pipe has collapsed
If so it'll leak. Fill tumbler with water. Turn supply off in road. Hold tumbler so cold tap is in the water. Open cold tap - if the level does down you have a leak. The pipe from you back to your boundary is your prob£em.

If you have a meter it's easier to detect a leak...
