Hi all, looks like a great forum here.
I came to ask about the accommodation for my rats. They have a room in the middle of the house about 3 s meters, they only get to play in it out the cage semi supervised cus one of the little darlings has an explorers spirit and chews her way out of closed doors.
I would love to be able to leave them to live in there. I need to secure the bottom of the room, I was thinking tiles on the floor and some way up the wall, this would be great as I could just swish a mop round it to clean. There is a set of pipes boxed off in one corner, the door isnt in the same alignment to the wall and the floor boards are uneven.
Could you suggest something?
Is there a paint that will set hard, bear in mind rats chew through plastic, wood and have been known to chew though wire mesh though my girls have never been interested.
Could I cover the floor and walls with lino and then cover the chewable corners with metal plate?
I'm a student nurse so don't have a lot of money to throw at this, I think a peek in a few skips might pay off
