High Revs after jump start

Hi guys,

Being a complete tool, i turned my interior light on, jumped out my car and returned 13 hours later to realise my error. My car was completely dead.

Anyway, Jumped started it, but now it has really high revs when idle (sitting at 3000) i drove it around for a bit, and whenever i come to a stop it just keeps reving. Also, when putting the clutch down to change gear it will also start reving.

The car was fine until i just jumped started it, any idea what has happened?

Describe what you mean when you said you jump started it, do you mean with jump leads off another vehicle?
Or with a push down the road, then putting it into gear?

try disconnecting the battery for 30 mins, reconnect start the car and immediately take it for a 10 minute drive driving normally. It could be possible that an electronic component has lost its settings
