Hi
Looking for a little help please i am going to fit a hive to my combi duotec 28 it has a timer already fitted and a room thermostat I have photos of how it is set up at the moment
Now looking at the wires got the live coming in that’s no problem then I have the cable with four wires going to the thermostat my question is can I utilise the thermostat wires to go to the hive I know I would have to use the earth wire for a different connection
And then disconnect the wires going to the built in timer or should I use the wires from the built in timer
Or just do a clean install I have attached some photos
Any help would be much appreciated

Very easy to do, use the wires going into the timer

1 on timer to L on hive
2 on timer to N on hive
3&4 on timer to 1&3 on hive (either way round doesnt matter)
in your 2nd pic remove the wires in 1&2 and insert a link same as in the pic.
Remove any other wires going to the existing thermostat and you are good to go

yes and remove all other wires going to the thermostat, it might have a Neutral and an Earth , or it might not, but if you dont put the link back in the hive wont work
