Hi all.

Am about to fit an extractor fan hood above my gas hob.

Extractor has 120 watt motor with a 40 watt bulb.

Is it possible to run a spur off the electric oven supply circuit from the isolation switch for the oven?

Is it possible to run a spur from the back of a nearby mains socket?

What gauge wiring would be required?

Any help greatly appreciated.

if you mean the cooker, supply NO! but you can spur off the esocket (providing it is not a spur itself, unless you fit an fcu

But i think it will be best if you get an electricain in to do this job for you

OOI.

Some PCs have an IEC mains outlet for the powering of the monitor.

Some stereo amps used to have ditto for the turntable.

I know what the regs say about spurring from the cooker circuit for the hood, but what would the situation be if the cooker or hob manufacturer fitted a fused outlet on his appliance for the powering of a hood?

that would be fine but becasue of the fuse, but as yet no one has done it (or have they?)
