We want to switch out our oven hood extractor for a dedicated extractor fan similar to those used in bathrooms.
When the electrician wired the oven hood extractor up, a FCU was fitted which runs directly to the oven hood extractor.
The new extractor fan will require a switched live for the boost. We don't want this tied into the light so no cross circuits there but would ideally like a switch on the wall.
Appreciate extractors are usually taken from the lighting circuit but for simplicity, Is it possible to simply ask an electrician to wire a single pole switch from the FCU to act as a switched live whilst also taking another feed from the same FCU as the extractor fan live or are these things much more complicated?
Having had the kitchen recently done, and made a mistake with low ceilings and low extractor fans, which equals a lot of saw heads, I was hoping for a simple job for the electrician this time around.
