i have a plug socket in my kitchen thats spured off a plug in the next room, can i replace this socket with a fcu and wire that upto a switch to control an extractor fan ?

if i can is the wiring simply live and neutral ?

and lastly, assuming the above is ok, can i run 2 extractor fans from the same fcu, with a double switch ?

Fantastic, thanks for the help.

ive got one more question, the extractor is going to be inside a cabinet approx 4ft square, and used to vent the air from it. inside the cabinet will be a marine sump below my marine aquarium, which contains salt water at 26*. is a normal extractor fan up to this or should i use a bathroom one ?

it will be extracting the air to a large room that has an external extractor if that makes any difference.

and do bathroom extractor fans need wiring any differently ?
