Hello:

I have a 6" / 150mm extractor hood to fit into a single floor extension, I want to go through the roof but am having problems finding a relevant cowl for the roof for the 150mm duct. (Most of them are steel, which are expensive and not very nice to look at - they look like a chippy vent)

If I reduce the duct to 4" finding (better looking plastic) cowls is a lot easier but will it have a big detrimental effect on the extraction performance of the hood?

Thanks

Obviously it will effect the performance but will you really notice.A hood with a 150mm outlet will have a fair bit of power.
I reduced mine for the same reasons as you and it works fine.

Thanks for the reply - I'll reduce the outlet.
as you say, it's quite powerful anyway.
