I have been recommended the Honeywell CM67 (optimal start) room stat for controlling my new (but still not quite finished) UFCH.

i've been told that they are intelligent devices that "learn" when they need to bring the heating on to achieve the required temp at the required time.

These are not cheap - hence as anyone got any experiences of these devices and do they do what it says on the tin?

Yes. In my view the best programmer out there. You can turn the "optimum start" off if you want to, and alter some of the time constants which control how the thing reacts. They do a wireless version too.

ChrisR, how does the CM67 compare with the Drayton RF3i in your opinion?

For a start I can program the damn thing without the instructions! The Honey has "day ay home", "2 days..", "party" (1/2/3 extra hour)which I think t'other might not? Features we always used to have on programmers which kinda disappeared with early prog stats.
