Hi all,

We recently bought a house with a 2007 Honeywell heating system in it. In the hallway there is a RF thermostat which flashes green and evidently works. However....we cannot find a receiver box connected to the boiler anywhere! Where could it be? Is it possible that previous owners took it with them? Our boiler works and has a wired thermostat near the boiler in the lounge as well so the lounge gets warm...trouble is, the RF thermostat isn't talking to anything and the rest of our house is cold! Help!

Thanks in advance.

When you say the lounge gets warm, how about the rest of the rads.

Sounds like you may have zones controlled by MVs, in which case look for it/them and you'll likely find the reciever.

Otherwise more info please.

The other radiators can get hot but they don't trigger on thermostat because once the living room is warm enough the heating turns off. The other rooms are much colder yet the boiler doesn't kick in in response to that. It's like the wired thermostat in the living room is the only one registering anything. The RF in the hallway does nothing nut has power.

Hope that's of some use :o

That is what I expected you to say, its been bodged more than likely

What I guess is the hall stat controls a Motorized valve (just turns it on/off) but not the boiler

Turn the hall stat off, does the rads now stay cold with maybe just the lounge getting hot

The radiators all still work whether the RF in the hall is on or off. It doesn't seem to do anything but then it's flashing green and red like it's doing something. So confusing!

The point is, it's unlikely to be doing nothing or why fit it.

I think you need to try and locate a motorized valve first, and you'll find the hall atat is trying to control it.

You don't have underfloor heating by any chance.

We just took cover off boiler and there is a motorised valve inside it. Does that resolve anything?

Maybe, does the hall stat open and close it.

After that we may need some pics and information, but one at a time

It doesn't seem to no. The wired thermostat is the only thing that makes the boiler trigger. The RF won't

Does the wired one open and close the MV then.

Check the valve isn't stuck by using the manual lever on the end.

What is the make/model of the MV,

Does it have 2 or 3 pipes going to it.

What is the boiler make/model.

Can you see a receiver by tracing the MV wires
