Honeywell ST9400c & Honeywell v4073

Just a quick question really,

I am looking to but a new digital programmer as ours has finally given up.

I am looking at the Honeywell st9400c which controls the times of the times of heating a water independantly.

What I would like to know is if it is compatible with the V4073 mid position valve or do i need to replace it to the v4043h? I understand that the unit can be used as a mini programmer if you do not have the correct valve but is the v4073 a correct valve for using the unit as a full programmer?

The 4073a is a standard 3port mid position valve, so should be fine.
