We have a Honeywell thermostat / 7-day timer linked to our boiler.

Over the past few months, the heating hasn't been on, but of course, it's now getting cold.

I noticed the other day, that some of the display is missing, the numbers are getting hard to read (parts missing) but i jusrt assumed the battery was flat, or at least getting low.

I bought new batteries thinking everything would be fine, but it's still the same.

Is it just time for a new unit. Is it just a case of buying one, or does the heating engineer need to come and 'install it' or at least pair it up with the unit next to the boiler

thank you

You can do the pairing yourself, instructions come with the unit..

It depends on what you mean by unit next to boiler, if it’s a wireless thermostat then it might not need any changes.
