Hi to all
Hoping to discuss here.
I have just completed the base for my detached garage, and as its part of overall renovation works it will remain as just the base for possibly a few years... unless i get some funding earlier.
I have a 10mm SWA cable in a hockey stick ready for the future, and this i have back inside at fuseboard. because i would like to use the garage base as a good flat surface to set up my workbench, espesially now as we are getting into spring/summer. what i am looking to do is introduce an electric socket/ hookup as a handy plug in for power tools.. Chopsaw, sander, planer, (240v and 110v) etc etc.
So Ideally I can fix a good solid timber post into ground by the incoming cable and ideally fix a standard outside socket, I feel i would have to "joint" a bit of 2.5mm SWA onto the end of the 10mm SWA to be able to connect suitably into the socket terminals. in the house i would connect to a 20 amp MCB, which would be RCBO protected.
The earthing arrangement for the house is a TN-C-S system.
Can i ask for comments please, does what i propose seem ok? have i missed anything??
Thanks
Russell
