Just whichever program is selected flashes and beeps in a regular pattern. It appears to start the progream and goes for about 15 mins and does an initial rinse and then stops
I don't doubt that you have a no-heat issue, what I am saying is that it isn't always caused by a defective element. Led's flashing in a specific pattern is the machine's way of telling you there is a problem...i.e. an error code to assist in faultfinding. How many times does it flash before repeating itself? You may (or may not) have an O/C element, but it could just as easily be a faulty thermostat/NTC, level switch, wiring, or a pcb issue.
Hi
Bit more info...........
The light appears to just flash at approx 1 sec intervals with no particular repeat pattern. I have located and tested the element and it reads 280 so I'm assuming the element is OK so it must be something else
If your element measures 28 ohms it is good. But the machine should be throwing up an error code....which isn't so good. If your element is ok then that leaves the following culprits; break in wiring or bad connection in the heating circuit, defective NTC, faulty level switch, or the pcb is history. Use your multimeter to check the integrity of the heater wiring. Measure the NTC probe in the sump housing (should be 20k ohms at room temp, when warmed in hot water to 85C the resistance should drop to around 2k ohms). Check the pcb for blown tracks/damaged components & that the level switch is actually switching when you blow lightly in the air inlet pipe. In the absence of a valid error code I would suspect a faulty pcb, but hedge your bets & check everything everything else before rushing out to buy spares. Good luck!
Tested both the element and the NTC on mine and they seem fine, although the NCT only drops to 3k in boiling water, is this faulty?
I dont think I have an error code so I think I need to move on to the pcb. Had a look underneath and I cant see where it is. Anyone got any diagrams they could post or any other tips?
