Hi all,
any help would be appreciated. My washer dryer refuses to heat water!I have changed the heating element(NO JOY).I have tested the pressure switch with a meter and blow tube and it appears to work. The expansion chamber seems to fill and the tube has no leaks?I am now suspecting the PCB. Has anyone had this problem any suggestions would be gratefully recieved. :?: :(

I can't remember what thermostats or temperature sensors they have but if you trace the heater wires you could see if it is in series with a thermostat or thermal overload cutout which might have failed.

Thanks for the replies,
There is no voltage across the heater element when the machine is running a programme.
The wires from the heater-: one goes to the pressure switch and the other goes to a relay on the PCB.I have checked the Thermistor situated in the drum above the element. When I apply heat to it it shows a small reading on my continuity meter.I have also blown up the pressure switc tube and it is opening and closeing.I am a bit stuck now to suspect anything other than the PCB? Thanks again for the help. :?:

Have you checked for dry joints at the relay pins in the PCB?

Hi Fidom
my next move is to take the PCB out tomorrow and have va close look at.A new one is £111 + So I will be looking very closely!!!
I will let you know what the outcome is.It is getting a bit border line now regarding cost.I fitted new drum bearings a month ago,a new heater element so it stands me about £60 at the moment. If I end up buying a PCB I will be approx £!70 which is getting close to a new machine. So I am fingers crossed at the moment that it is something obvious on the PCB. Thanks in advance.

Hi Fidom,
all has now been solved.I removed the PCB and it looked perfect,no tracking or dry joints.!Being a tight fisted beggar I had a cup of cofee and applied the grey matter to all the things that effect the heater. The only thing I had not looked at was the switch on the front panel that sets the water temperature,I eventually got it off and when I pulled the wires off it a small piece of the ciruit board came with it?!!*## I assume that when I re-assembled it after doing the bearings I somehow put it on slightly twisted and put a hair line crack in the board.(I DON'T BELIEVE IT!!)Maybe this will assist others with the same problem.I made a temporary repair with a piece of old circuit board and Araldite. It now heats up.I will check out you e-mail link for a new switch. :D :D
Many thanks to those who assited me.
