I have a Hoover VHD844DB washing machine. When a wash selection is made the digital display jumps around and I have to manipulate the selector until I can get it to stabilize on the spin speed and wash time. Any ideas as to a fix. Would switch cleaner work? I have not touched the machine yet.

If you have a selector problem change it out, using switch cleaner isn't a good idea.
