hoover washer dryer VHW654D drains ok , then fills up.

my washing machine drains ok , does everything ok as far as i can see however when waiting for the door to unlock its stays empty until the last moment then fills up a little just before the door unlocks , the machine stays on cycle until the door unlocks and it hums , then 'end' shows on the led screen thingy it fills up , stops humming and unlocks the door.

any ideas guys?

ive left it drained and off (pulled the plug when it was totally empty) and it remained empty so i dont think its a leaking inlet valve , but i dont know for sure.

i gave it a run this morning and it washed ok however when it started to rinse it filled up to 3/4 the drum , its never taken in this much water on a rinse before.
any ideas guys?
