Hoptoint FF woes!

Hi, my elderly neighbours got a Hotpoint FFA52K Fridge Freezer, how often should the motor kick in and then cut out for? It seems to be doing about 15-20 mins on and then 15-20 mins off? Is that normal or is it malfunctioning and using too much power? AFAIK its cooling down correctly.
