I'm currently in the thought process of putting a hot tub in my back garden. They are a bit expensive tho, however it would be nice to jump in on a cool evening.

Does anyone here have a hot tub?

If so send a photo of your hot tub, so that I can get to see some styles in real life

Used to have a big 5 seater £3k imported direct from USA .
But now happy with an inflatable for a few £hundred .
Maybe try the cheaper option first .
Can be used all year round as they heat to 40degree ( if you can afford electric).

Agree with FH's suggest to get a decent inflatable and actually see how often you use it. The faff and expense doesn't go away with a fixed install so try cheap before you pay dear!

We purchased one during lockdown. I was totally against it to start with but to be fair I'm in it the most these days. Very expensive to run in the winter but IMHO, worth it.

Cold Plunge Tubs
That looks very nice and comfy! I do like the shelter you have built for it.

I bought mine in 2004. I use it every day. It's a hardshell Master Spa (re-badged as Ocean Spas)

Very lucky in that it has still all its original (3) motors. A bit like Trigger's broom it has had two replacement lids, two replacement ozone units, a replacement heater/control box. I'm looking to retro-fit a smarter unit so that I can manage it more effectively

I had to replace the wooden frame that was in contact with the ground in 2018. I put some plastic pads on the support points to stop more water rot

I had a mouse infestation in 2014 that I treated, wrapped 1/4" mesh round the internals and resparayed with foam

Never had it serviced, have only ever used Aquafinesse (Used to be Aquagarde) which is super simple to use.

The big elephant is electricity cost. I was told in 2004 that it cost "about a pound a day". I really should be monitoring its use - another job to add to the list

Regards

Tet

I agree with Foxhole; try an inflatable one first before committing to real money. I had one for 3 years, up to and including the first lockdown, and absolutely loved it, especially in the rain.
Loved to go open water swimming in it ….
