Hot Water and Central Heater Help Please

I have a 4 bed two bathroom house with 10 rads. I have a floor standing Potterton which is about 18 years old. The issues I am having are below;

1. The overflow pipe from the CH header tank in the loft is leaking to outside. The ball is working fine but the water exceeds this and overflows. Have drained 1/2 a Rad numerous times and cleared a fair amount of crap but still persists.

2. Have no hot water. I checked the HW header tank that this is full which it was.

With all this issues and the age of the system I am assuming that I would need to upgrade it. If so please confirm the best fit as I would like to have an idea before I get various plumbers in;

Needs:
1. No room for a Large upright tank.
2. System needs to cope with two bathrooms.
3. The present system is sited on an outside wall ground floor.
3. 2 adults, 1 tean and 1 kid. Mainly use shower not bath.
5. Low mains pressure so this would need to be improved and if so would this change my system options?.

Can you suggest any good systems that can cope with the above.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Although you may not have described the problem corrected but it seems you may have a cylinder leaking from water into the heating system.

That would be fixed by a new cylinder and the replacement of the boiler could follow as convenient.

I have had a few plumbers in who scratched their heads at my setup and one mentioned that my tank is lying down which is wrong. Would this need to change as I have no room to replace it with an upright one. That being the case I might as well update the whole lot as its 18 years old.

Thinking of

1. Getting Water mains renewed using a Mole to avoid digging up my
drive and to increase my mains pressure.

2. Worcester Greenstar Highflow 440 CDI Combi Boiler.

3. Swapping out 15ml copper pipes for 22ml ones where possible.

4. Removal of old tank, header tanks and old pipework no longer used.

Do you see any issues with this or is this overkill?
