Hello.
I know alot of you don't like the Arsiton Combi A23 but I am still running my trusty combi as I can't afford a new replacement.

Please can anybody advise what I can do about sorting out the hot water problem?

I run the HW and the burner ignites then quickly goes off. Sometime it will reignite again, but sometimes it won't and eventually the red light comes on.

I have tried the suggested, pressuring up to 2.5 and switching between heating and maintenance where it corrects it for a few weeks, then it returns.

Recently I did check the PVessel and pressured it to 1Bar, but the problem has returned.

Any advice would be very much appreciated as my engineer is fully booked for a while.

Don't know where you read that suggestion but that's too high - no more than 1.5bar typically on a CH system

Sounds more like an ignition/burner issue and that will need an qualified engineer to visit, diagnose and repair.

Thank Madrab.
Apologfies for not getting back to you sooner but my email alerts on this topic are not working!
Also apologies for not explaining about the 2.5B. That was the instruction to riase it to when switching between CH and service.
Once this was complete, I reduced the pressure back do to just over 1B. Sorry.

With this process, the problem goes away but slowly creeps back in, which kinda tells me it is a ignition/burner problem.

Sorry but it should write....

With this process, the problem goes away but slowly creeps back in, which kinda tells me it is NOT a ignition/burner problem.

UPDATE:
Just did another process of pushing the pressure up to just over 2 Bar and switched the heating on, then switched to service mode and swicthed back to CH, repeated a few times over a course of 5-10 minutes.
Drained the pressure back down to just over 1 Bar and the hot water appears to be working again.

Let's see how long this lasts!

Any suggestions on how to found a complete solution to this very annoying problem will be gratefully recieved!!
Regards,

That advice may be to reset a water pressure switch in case it is faulty but nothing to do with ignition sequence since the pressure switch ( cannot be sure if this boiler has a pressure switch or run dry avoidance is by other means- low pressure would inhibit boiler operation.

Worked on this boiler many times. Strange design with multiple pcbs

Thanks for replying DP.

But do you have a solution to the problem please?

Plus, what does pcbs mean?

Regards

I remember that this boiler has an air pressure switch and a couple of flow switches on the 3 port, don't remember it having a system pressure switch though it could have.

Ultimately though the boiler needs looked at by someone familiar with them to check a number of components around the proving side of things, be it fan, pump, 3 way valve, of the boiler. Any one of them could be at fault.
