Hot water coming into loft header tank

just noticed damp on airing cupboard ceiling...cause is hot water coming through overflow into loft header tank.
Condensation in loft...obvious signs of water splashing out of header tank.

could this be caused by faulty boiler thermostat...water and rads are very hot after short time?

any help appreciated

ps..boiler is a Baxi Bermuda Inset 2 50/4E ...4 years old. have called installer and he will check out soon

Would it be a relatively easy job for my installer to get the necessary part and fit [if it is the back bolier thermostat??]
