Good Evening -

I'm fitting a new indirect hot water cylinder. Haven't done one before, and would appreciate any comments on a couple of questions please.

1) I'm assuming the Flow goes in the bottom coil fitting, and the Return comes out of the top one. Is that OK?

2) Treating the indirect coil as a radiator, should I fit a manual bleed valve in the top pipework to allow bleeding of any trapped air?

3) Any recomendations on a motorisd valve to use for switching the circuit? I'm not too clear on the possibilities with (eg) 2 port and 3 port valves. Also, any comments re. a decent central heating controller? My existing controller does not cater for central heating AND hot water, just the heating, so it'll need to be changed.

Also, would still apreciate views on my previous posting re. Warix flanges...?

Thanks in advance -

Kind Regards.

Cheers breezer - this answers my question about where to connect flow and return.

I've been looking around myself also this evening - still can't get a clear view on (eg) what motorised valves to choose.

Looks like I can use a simple 2-port valve to allow flow through my indirect coil, based on signals from my central heating programmer and/or a cylinder stat... but there appear to be more complex options based on 3-port motorised valves, which give different combinations of hot water and/or central heating. Oh dear. :-{

Any further views or links greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards
