I've seen several posts on this but to clarify please.

There is hot water coming out of the pipe that hangs U shaped over the expansion/feed tank. This tanks water level is about 2 inches from the top as it's been filled from the overhanging pipe and pouring onto my drive at open tap rate. There is also steam and general wet around the area. I notice that it's only doing it when the CH is on and first thing in th emorning when it's been on for 10/15 minutes it makes a terrible racket in the loft bubbling and steaming.

It's venting from the copper tank I guess?
Don't really know why or what to try first?

I have knocked the pump from 2 to 1 and knocked the Tank Stat down to 45 from 60.

4 yrs ago new copper tank
1 yr ago new pump
1 week ago new 3 way valve

Any help greatly appreciated

Thankyou
Stewart

It's either piped wrongly or there's a blockage in or around the cold feed/open vent area.
Your system will need, at least, a chemical clean, more likely a powerflush

Are there cold spots at the bottom of the rads?
Start with a chemical flush, Kamco's Hyperflush can be left in for a month.

turn the boiler stat down to minimum and see if its still the same.
