Hi
Our hot water has always been slow, around 20 min to run a bath. Since yesterday it is flowing at mains pressure. It is still getting hot if the taps are turned down but the boiler is not coping with them on full.
It is not a problem with the kitchen tap as it is smaller, only the bath.
Nothing has been done to the boiler or plumbing, any ideas what could be causing it

What exactly is the issue ?
Water is heating and under good pressure ????

For the last 12 years the pressure in the bath has been low and the water got hot. Now the flow seems to be too fast for the boiler to heat it up, the only way to get the water in the bath hot is to turn the hot tap down to a reduced flow. It just started all of a sudden yesterday

Ask the neighbours to see if they've noticed a difference..maybe the networks been upgraded.

Are you sure the flowrate has increased and that its not the boiler output has decreased for some reason or other?.

It's definitely the flow rate, the water seems to be at mains pressure when the hot tap is on full, before it was very slow. I am using the hot tap to restrict the flow to around what it used to be so the water heats up.

Some combis have a restrictor installed in the cold supply so you may have to install one if you don't want to keep restricting the flow rate by throttling the hot tap(s).
