hi, I replaced a leaking diverter valve even though hot water was coming through, but tepid. have a horrible feeling my problem was a worn seal. no leaks now ,but the water is still tepid. forgot to say boiler is a vaillant turbomax 824. ten years old Boiler works well but for not producing water not hot enough to shave with.Appreciate some help please

Have you tried turning up the hw dial on the boiler? Does the water get hotter if you run the tap slowly?
hi, the control is on maximum.. the problem is rather more complex.

Sounds like your plate heat exchanger is scaled and/or blocked. Especially if the problem has been getting worse over time, and especially bad in winter. Not too difficult to take out and either clean or replace.
