Hotpoint Aquarius 1000 WM62 PROBLEM!!!

Sorry. Completely new to site but this is my last ditch attempt.

Put a wash load into washer yesturday and 10 mintues into wash the trip switch blew. I switched everything back on in the lecky cupboard but after the wash had finished the red light stayed on and door won't open. I have checked pipes (grey) and they are clear, I have re-washed, hoping that this may trigger some kind of something. I am NOW at the ripping my hair out stage. I have sat so long at this computer trying to find a solution that my bottom now resembles memory foam!
I go on holiday on Saturday morning and the clothes are stuck in the machine..... PLEASE HELP.

P.s. If any replies could be in 'Complete Blonde Language' that would be brilliant...lol...Thanks in advance..

Remove the lid and put hand down inside to the back of the lock. There is a blob of glue that u press on the back of the lock that will open the door then you need to find out what tripped it poss door lock or heater or motor.

I have rumaged down inside the washing machine from the top, but where the lock is it's covered by a plastic casing, so IMPOSSIBLE to get in there.

I am losing the will to live...

That plastic casing is the lock. Press the blob on the back of it

Ok...me again.

So managed to unlock the door and salvage the washing. (thanks for telling me how to do that, much appreciated) As soon as I plug the machine back in that red light comes back on.
I'm assuming this could be a number of things, but what do I start with?. Sorry. I know I'm a pain

Door lock needs replacing but if you use it does it lock and wash and open
