The water is not heating up despite fitting a new heater element.
Could there be any other reason for lack of heat?
Any help appreciated.

Are you sure the old element was faulty? How did you test it?
Give as much information as you can and i'm sure there will be an answer here somewhere..

The old element was not tested - I just presumed it was faulty.
But the water is still not heating - with the old or the new element.
:D

You do need some method of carrying out tests on your machine.
Without basic tools and equipment it will be very difficult to diagnose the fault .
You may have to bite the bullet and have it looked at professionally.

Hi,

How do you know the element is not working? you said the water was not getting hot! The water may not be supposed to reach as high as the element but be splashed by the water, is the water being sprayed by the arm over the element so it can be heated!

When you think the element should be on, stop the dishwasher open the door and splash water at the element, if it steams and hisses you know the element is ok and its the spray pump thats faulty or a block or tare in the pipework to the arms. Be carefull about getting your fingers too close to te element just in case it is working ok!

Good luck
