Hotpoint dryer drum not turning.

Hello, have a Hotpoint dryer, where the drum will only start to turn if you push it manually. Once its going it stops, any ideas, thanks. Is the belt that goes around the drum there to turn it, if so its not showing any signs of slipping.

How old is it, the belt drives it and is under tension so should be tight, can wear out , also can bind at the front where it runs on nylon friction pads [or the old models used too] or rear bearing can seize.

Which is the best panel to remove to have access to the motor etc.

Is it a washer dryer or tumble dryer your post says both. Post model number

Lid off then right hand side panel off , cap at the bottom back right it's a round white tube with 2 wire connections on top of it
