Hotpoint aquarius dwf50 dishwasher I think the pump has gone as it fills with water but does not

Any ideas anyone

You mean circulation pump. Could also be cap next to it as well

It stores the power then kickstarts the pump.

Do they cost much

About a tenner. Did you check the back of the pump to see if it has jammed. There is a spring coil at the rear of the pump and in the middle of that is a slot put a screw driver in it and see if it turns freely.
