I have had this appliance for 6 months now--and right from the first week it made the most horrendous loud noise, it sounds likes a house brick crashing down inside it, (not a pebble dash sound) i mean a house brick,it bangs between 1 & 4 times then you won't hear it for a few days. My husband said he thinks it's defrosting (defrosting what icebergs) can anyone shed any light on this problem please.
Thanks in advance.

Maybe I should clarify what I'm asking, do you think defrosting would make a loud banging noise??
Thanks
Lynn

Yes could do.In a frost free during the defrost cycle heaters are turned on to clear ice/snow from evaporator. The evaporator(part that generates cold) may be as low as minus 25 deg celsius-when defrost heater is applied sudden warm up can make metal plate type covers etc bang/crack/groan.
