Hotpoint FFS70 Fridge Freezer

Wondering if anyone can help. Please.......

I have the FFS70 fridge freezer but for past few months the "Freezer High Temp" light has been regularly lit meaning the freezer is defrosting all by itself for no reason.

The past fortnight there has been a constant loud hum heard throughout the house coming from the rear if the freezer unit (not the compressor or cooling fins)

Can anybody offer any ideas as to cause and resolution?

There are no leaks or breakages, no over frosting just noise and lots of heat from compressor.

It's sending me round the bend

You say no leaks.

I had a problem with my freezer (a hotpoint too) recently. The frost free wasn't working correctly as the hole that lets condensed water through at the bottom got clogged up and so the freezer needed cleaning and slightly defrosting so was being over worked. Might I suggest in the first instance you check yours hasn't done the same?

This migth be moved to appliance section BTW
