Help much appreciated please.

We have a Hotpoint SDW85a (slimline dishwasher) which is 18 months old and it has stopped working.

Diagnosis:
- There is electric power (i.e. the screen will illuminate light blue)
- There is no error code on screen (the salt light is flashing however)
- But, None of the buttons respond when pressed, so I cannot choose cycle, mode, start / stop.

My guess is an electrics problem. I have opened up the front and reconnected / rehoused all the wiring behind the panel with no joy. Any further suggestions?

Is the door locking and unlocking properly? If it is then it's most likely a pcb problem.

Yes, the door is fine and nothing else seems broken or damaged. It's just the electric display screen on the front.

I've done my research and PCB = printed circuit board, but what's the scoop on these hotpoints - is this something a dishwasher rookie can order / replace or is it best to order in a specialist to repair (will cost £100)?

Check with Hotpoint. Should be a 5 year parts warranty.
Hotpoint also do a fixed price repair.
