I have a Hotpoint WD440P that is almost new (about 1 month old). It started to intermittently blow the house fuse when it was used but now has reached the stage that the fuse trips everytime I try to use the machine.

The exact moment it happens (every time) is when the door is closed. It can be turned on at the switch but the second the door is closed...the lights go out.

My wife says that it has leaked a couple of times which may be causing a problem.

Any ideas?

Shorting out somewhere and due to it's age you should contact Hotpoint for warranty repair. Don't attempt repair yourself as this may invalidate your warranty.
