Hotpoint washing machine not working

Hi, I hope somebody may be able to help?

We have a Hotpoint WMT05 washing machine, it's probably 10 years old now. In the past I've changed the motor brushes and also removed blockages from the pump sump chamber and pumo impellor.

The current problem is, it won't start a cycle on any setting. The door interlock light flashes, and usually it goes off and the cycle begins. I changed the door lock, as it cost only a few pounds, but it still won't work.

Any ideas would could be the cause please? Maybe it's time for a new washing machine otherwise?

Spring in the door handle broke or motor brushes worn down and taken pcb out.

motor brushes have only been in 2 years. I'll check the door handle thanks for your help.

The carbon motor brushes have reduced massively, in less than 2 years! What length should they be, I am sure they are way reduced from what they were when I changed them last.

About a inch new. Under 1 cm change then.
