hotpoint WD420 won't start

my machine has suddenly stopped working?
When you turn it on all lights come on and clear after you select the program the water will start for a split second and when the machine waits.

if i select rinse, spin or pump out nothing happens.

any suggestions on possible faults?

does the door lock light go out .but the door is locked .

yes the door is locked and the light goes out.

motor brushes are worn needs replaceing

why will the water not fill?

cos it takes the neutrel supply though the motor and nothing works no fill no spin ,it breaks the circuit .

trust me it will work .just replace brushes all will be fine .

Took me a few days to get hold of some brushes, but fitted them today and everything is fine.

I've got the same problem as Mr Mick on my washer. I've checked the bushes and they seem to be long enough. Do you have any other ideas?

about 3/4 inch long

thats ok long enough, check for broken wire on the motor block.

I've had a look and there doesn't seem to be any broken wires. Any other suggestions? Thanks
