Hotpoint WM51

Can anyone help? My WM51 doesn't spin. Over the last few weeks problems have been occurring. Firstly, when washing on a 60 degrees there was only minimal water entering the soap drawer. As of today the spin cycle sounds as though its about to start but then fails to turn the drum to spin. There is also occassionally problems with the door. It sometimes fails to light up or start straight away even though the door is closed. Not sure if the problems/faults are related. I would be grateful for any help. Are the problems easily fixed or is it a new washer I need? Thanks

check the brushes first on the moter ,also replace the door lock cos it will blow the timer very shortly.
