My Hotpoint washing machine stop on the rinse cycle and has tripped the main house RCD.

I have read the post on the WM64 tripping earlier on this forum.
I have disconnected the motor and waste pump but when i turn on the machine it still trips.

How do I drain the washing machine while it isnt working?

How do you check the door switch - there is a red, black and brown wire going to the switch. I have disconnected them all and turned on the machine - it did not trip - but does the switch need to be made to power the machine at all? - Has anyone got any suggestions. I suppose I will have to buy a new switch.
I have noticed that the rubber seal around the door has a split in it so some water must of escaped - it may have got to the door switc?

Could it be the heater? - Where is the heater on this machine? - How do I get to it?

thanks
