House refurbishment in stages, job prioritising advise needed

Hi,

We got our house recently which is in a poor condition, I have a structural home buyers report with photos of all the work that needs to be done and I'm looking for advice on how to get them done in stages slowly while living at the property as I have not got enough cash to refurbish the house all at the same time.

I'm hoping to get all the work done to high standards by specialist builders becuase I have no faith in me as nearly all my past DIY jobs were rubbish!!

Who can help me with this? Who do I go to for advise and for the work? We are in Birmingham.

difficult question to answer without knowing exactly what works need to be done.but first would be any safety issues , electrics ,gas,plumbing.structural.

The surveyor who wrote the report could advise on what he is recommending.

Then it's a case of using a general builder, or specialist trades.

You start with the most intrusive work, and the finish with the carpeting.
