I'm getting some refurbishment work done on a 1930s house. Had some cracked plaster removed around roof overhang in a 1st Floor bedroom and found loose/blown insulation filling the gap partly. Advice needed:

1) Should I get the insulation removed (seems to have settled massively)?
2) What insulation should I replace with given the roof structure and warm room?

Have a look at insulation and check it's not asbestos. I knew a guy that used to place some of his asbestos roof installation on a lounge gas fire as it glowed.

Have you ventilation in loft with a through draft? Wall or roof vents.

Something like kingspan in the walls and rockwool in the ceiling voids

If that's some kind of tile hung external wall it needs properly addressing with a modern insulation system. Insulation doesn't make a room warm, it makes a room (much) cheaper to keep warm.

Thanks, yes getting it checked for asbestos. Fingers crossed, it's routine cellulose variety.

It's a first floor room. I've added an external photo for better external perspective around the space needing attention.
