That looks perfect to me to but a wrap around lean to canopy from your entry gate to your font (back ) door. Give you dry walk way from door to your car - will solve the problem and give you dry storage you can even hang your washing out there and not worry about it getting wet.

I suspect that was originally the coal shed, As per nose those slates must be struggling at that pitch, Moving the rainwater pipe that is discharging onto that roof would probably solve the problem. If you need something to paint onto the bricks then I can recommend Stormdry.
