I bought a flat a couple of years back and one issue the solicitors had an issue about was requirement for a fire-door as the entrance. They held back some money which would be released to me if the door is NOT a fire door, and are reminding me they would like to resolve this - however they won't take my word for it.
How can one tell if a door is actually a fire door - and a compliant one at that - from inspection given there is no paperwork or any idea how old it is?
