There's a gas meter and 2 extractor fans; I am thinking a kitchen cupboard door (approx 50x76cm) and some sort of matching panel for the far right side but would like so advice from anyone who might know better! Something that would not look out of place with the tiles...

I would be moving the extractor for a start!

Shift it right, right? Then the cupboard door I mentioned can cover the area top to bottom. I am looking feedback for the covering whole area, not just move something around.

I would be building my own cupboard. Easy enough. Square it all off.

OP,
1. The main gas isolator must be easily accessible at all times.
2. Your isolator might not be easily accessible, & a gas inspection or a RICS surveyor might red flag the installation?
3. Why not get a heads up from a bathroom fitter or a plumber?

1) door being fitted in order to keep it accessible at all times
2/3) already had ofgem comment on it and they wont move the meter as there nothing wrong with how it is. the shut off should be drop down by regs but even that they wont fix!
