Hello & Happy New Year!
I went away for the holidays and have returned home and my central heating doesn't want to kick back on. The hot water is working fine and the pressure is about 1.7 bars. The heating is in the timer hours and I have turned the thermostate up too.
I have tired turning the boiler on and off but no luck so far.
I live in a rented apartment and there is no user guide available either.
The boiler is an Airston (they don't seem to be a popular brand!). If anyone can help that would be wonderful and appreciated.
Many thanks!

it sounds like the zone valve not opening, and so the micro switch is not allowing the signal to pass to ignite the boiler and run the pump.

Do you know how many zone valves you have? is it 2 or 1?

Hi,
Thanks for getting back to me.
I see 5 big valves coming into the bottom of the boiler. Sorry this obviously doesn't help much as I am an amiture without a user guide.
Two of them have black plastic control leavers and when I open these together it allows water into the system, this much I know so far.

Apologies I am not clear on the difference between a zone valve and a valve.

You have a combi boiler so you won't find any zone valves.
Assuming your controls are turned on correctly the problem is inside your boiler and your landlord will therefore need a registered engineer to fix it for you
