I have an ideal combi boiler. hot water works fine and the central heating comes on when the room stat is turned up but then stays on. the room stat is controlled on a timer and central heating still remains on when stat is off and timer is off. I have noticed the boiler will only stop the central heating when hot water is called for and then when the hot water is stopped the boiler will stop.
