How do I get plug out of hot water tank?

I have to remove the plug from the immersion heater port in a tank, but it's stuck and an 18" adjustable wont shift it. What methods work?

This is the beastie. I have tried getting a junior hacksaw blade in where there might be a gasket, but the gap is too thin.

make sure the spanner is a good fit on the nut and give it a couple of taps with a hammer, clockwise first as if you were tightening it then anti-clockwise and it should move,

or try bit of heat to it.

yes i've found heat works, but sometimes works better after emptying of water -which is when you crumple the cooper and knacker it!

or drill and cut it out.
