How do I let water into my vokera combi boiler

Hi
I can't make sense of the instructions at all. My boiler has always been a bit iffy, but last night I bled the radiators as they weren't getting that hot and the pressure was on the low side.

The upshot is no heating or hot water and no pressure in the boiler at all. I had the plumber/gas man round a couple of years ago and he seemed to push something backwards and water gushed into the system. I can't work out which tap he pushed, I have tried turning the black tap where I think the water comes in to the open position but nothing happens

any suggestions?

Many thanks in advance

If you have a Linea and you are talking about the black 3 way tap under the boiler right hand side, then if you turn it to fill and nothing happens, you either have no water entering it or the non-return valve at the other end of the filling loop has stuck shut.

you need to look for a flexi pipe which is the filling loop and turn the black lever or levers on it in line with the pipe and watch the gauge rise to 1.5 then turn it off

Thanks for this - at the risk of sounding really stupid. I couldn't find UK on the list when I registered and am just outside Norwich (in response to the 2nd reply).

There is a white pipe coming up into the boiler which I believe is the water and where it meets the copper pipes there is first a wobbly bit with what looks like a monocule on the bottom which more likely to be a screw on lid, behind that a black 'tap' I have turned that a quarter turn so it points backwards with no joy.

again thanks in advance

there must be another lever or tap to turn either at the boiler or on other end of the filling loop

try underneath the boiler, the black knob with close and open, once you fill it up it should run, the low water pressure switch is keeping it shut off at the moment

thanks, i have turned the cold water inlet stopcock to fully open and the the black plastic lever at the end of the flexi-pipe 90º but no rush of filling water? maybe i have a blockage in the inlet or the plastic switch is worn so it turns the lever but doesn't open the valve - does that make sense?

Forget what I said about a Linea then. You will have a seperate filling loop connected between the cold mains and the return then.

As already been said, it must be a problem with this. Newer ones have a non return valve in them, but could just be lever snapped and not turning the shaft.

yep, take the black lever off with pozi screwdriver and turn internal part with pair of pump grip pliers, let us know how you get on mate

Just to say thanks

You were bang on - the lever was turning externally but internally nothing was happening, needed a new lever!

I am now the proud owner of a new lever and hot water and heating, thank you to all as I could alert the engineer and he arrived with the correct part.

:D
