Hi There,
Boiler: Potterton Puma 80 - Combi.
I have had no hot water from any of my hot water tapes for the last few days. when I turn on the hot water tap, i get a small gush, then a dribble and then nothing, all in 60secs.
my landlord booked a boiler engineer to inspect the boiler, the engineer inspected the boiler and said the problem had to be the heat converter and said it would need to be replaced. however my boiler is over 10 years old and the part was unavailable so he issued a BER to replace boiler.
this all happened just before the bank holiday weekend so I'm now waiting for the engineer to get back to me in regards to replacing the boiler.
I have a few questions to ask; I'm no expert but I would have thought if there was no water at all from the hot taps the problem would be with the hot water pipes?
The hot water taps have never been as flowing as the cold taps. and a plumber came out a few years ago and said it was due to low (or high pressure - cant remember :/) in the hot water pipes, he improved it somewhat though.
also, whats the process with costs when a boiler has to be replaced due to Beyond Economical Repair?
Many Thanks in advance
