Hi,
Could anyone advise as to any equipment we can use? We have a few lintels to move into place which are way too big to be able to move by bodily force.

They are going into a bungalow extension and conversion, however all of my local tool hire places seem to be drawing a blank.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Just under 5m in length for the larger and the smaller one is 2m

I have found out that the large one weighs 242kg

Right a 203UC hmm.. get a splice connection to split it into two sections so they can be possitioned by 4 blokes.. something like a 150kg section and 100kg..

Course if its already on site.. then thats a different matter..

242kg in old money =4.75cwt.
4 decent lads will lift, carry and manhandle onto first lift scaffold, no problem. Same four lads will clean lift and place in position. We do it regular as clockwork. Just mind yer fingers.
If only two of you, then you want a lintel bogie to push er around on, and genie material lift to lift er on with.
old un :D
