HOW DO YOU GET WHITE SPIRIT SMELL OUT OF WOOD

HI

i have been cleaning some tar and paint off some hardwood blocks
i have had to soak them over night in a thinned down solution of white spirit

but a day later even thou the wood is
clean it still smells

do you know of any way of removal the spirit smell

I would have thought if they have good air circulation, the white spirit will evaporate away, if not you could wash them, but then you will have to leave them to dry
